Creased eyeshadow is the one thing that nobody wants, especially when you’ve spent all that time (and money) expertly crafting your cut crease. Which is why our makeup bag would never be without an eyeshadow primer.
From Urban Decay’s iconic Primer Potion, to MAC’s Paint Pots, we’ve tried them all, but there is a brand new base out there that the Queen of Makeup herself – NikkiTutorials – has declared “the best in the world”.
Yeah, I knew that would get your attention.
Paige Louise aka plouise_makeup_academy on Instagram is a makeup artist who started the trend for using MAC’s Select Cover Up Concealer as an eyeshadow primer.

Paige’s technique of using this concealer as a primer (without powdering) went viral, but she still wasn’t 100% happy with her hack and decided the only way to get her perfect eyeshadow base was to make her own.
And the P. Louise Rumour Base has already been certified as “the best eye base in the world” by Nikkie Tutorials.
Reviewing it on her channel Nikkie said it was the perfect eyeshadow base if you want “maximum pigmentation and coverage” out of your eyeshadow.
After 7 hours of wear, Nikkie’s eyeshadow remained perfectly blended with zero creasing in sight. Her only complaint was that she wished the base came in more shades for people with darker skin tones, which is something Paige has already addressed and confirmed will be coming.

Of course the Nikkie effect means that the base is already out of stock, but you can expect a re-stock imminently.
